From the race director Xavier Pocino’s official announcement:

After the torrential rains that fell this Friday, and with the new forecast that these rains will continue throughout the beginning of the night, it is impossible for us to maintain and guarantee the safety of the runners and of our teams.

At the moment, there are staff of the organisation completely cut off from communication in the mountains, and our main priority is their safety.

The entire team of Mallorca by UTMB® regrets the cancellation. We share your frustration, but the mountain has its rules and always wins.

Spain has seen insane amounts of rain fall in recent days as CNN reports:

Spain is reeling from its worst flooding in decades, after a year’s worth of rain fell in just hours this week in the country’s southern and eastern regions.

So it’s not surprising but very much the correct decision to call off the events and get everyone to safely.

Update: I was mistaken to suggest that ALL races were cancelled. Only the 100M (Serra de Tramuntana – 90 KM) and the two 100K events (Mallorca 5000 (M5000) – 69KM, Mallorca 5000 Relleus – 69KM) were, I apologize for creating confusion.
