Outside Writes About Krakauer Medium Posts

I was going to add this just as a side note below the previous post about Krakauer’s takedown on his Medium blog but given the news this week I decided this deserves its own post:

Outside, the outfit formerly known as a magazine, but now an interactive technology extravaganza has a long history with Krakauer (Outside sent Krakauer on assignment to report on this fateful Everest trip). But now in 2024 Krakauer doesn’t use the incredibly smart designed Outside news feed/social platform to share his take down, but Outside has one of their (last remaining?!) writers, Jayme Moye write an article about Krakauer’s Medium posts, which you can’t ready because it’s behind a paywall.

A most perfect metaphor, if I’ve ever seen one.

Also, jebus, have you been to that Outside newsfeed/Facebook clone recently? It takes forever to load and is buggy as hell. Nothing a couple more tech acquisitions won’t be able to fix… I assume.
