Aravaipa Enters California

The expansion of Aravaipa Running continues. Announcement via Instagram:

We’re excited to announce the start of a new chapter for Aravaipa Running with our first foray into California, featuring two incredible events—Harding Hustle and That’s No Moon, formerly hosted by Dirty Feet Trail Races.

This is the sixth state Aravaipa has planted a flag now – Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, New Hampshire, and now California.

During the COVID pandemic when no races could happen I remember reading an article where the author was wondering how our sport, and especially race organizations would recover and grow out of the lockdowns after the complete business shutdowns. One aspect the author was mentioning was the possibility of the consolidation of races under the umbrella of larger race organizations. What Aravaipa has been able to achieve here, and I believe they are the only ones that are doing this on a larger scale, is exactly this – continuing the races, without changing much – and extracting value out of them, without (seemingly) any sacrifice to the local communities.
