I was just part of a conversation about what makes a trail race ‘cool’ and ‘different’ and a race along the the Oberkircher Brennersteig in the Black Forest of Germany would certainly be that. Not ‘counter culture’, as offering alcohol on the honor system along a hiking trail has long history and requires a culture of respect and reasonability but it certainly would be a race that would offer something different then the usual fair at an aid station. You might not PR at that race.
