Mile & Stone Launch the Trail Running Awards

French newsletter ‘Mile & Stone’ announced today:

…the Trail Running Awards by Mile & Stone aim to celebrate excellence and innovation in the field of trail running.

This event, whose first edition will take place on Wednesday, 11 December 2024, in the heart of the Alps, aims to reward and highlight the contributions of athletes, companies, teams, and initiatives that have shaped the year 2024. 

Our goal is to make it the grand end-of-year celebration for trail running!

This is a really clever idea and takes the awards we’ve seen so far (UROF/TROY) to the next level by incorporating categories that aren’t just focused on the athletes. Here are their proposed categories:

• Trail Runner of the year (Women)
• Trail Runner of the year (Men)
• Team of the year
• Communication Campaign of the year
• Product of the year
• Service of the year
• Start-up of the year
• Environmental Initiative of the year
• Social Initiative of the year
• Regional Initiative of the year

I have thought of something similar and had a few other categories I would’ve included, but it’ll be interesting to see what their categories will include and encompass.
