mozart 100’s ‘Finisher Guarantee’

This is something I hadn’t seen before (and found on the UTMB site for the mozart 100 event):

For a small fee the Finisher-Garantie® can be contracted when registering or collecting the start numbers. In case of non-completion of your race, for whatever reason, you will receive a free starting place for the relevant competition in the following year. The condition is that at least 50% of the course have been completed and no disqualification has been issued.

Kind of a fascinating idea… especially for folks like me who are slower and are battling cutoffs later into the race.
