From the official press release:
Vibram and NIKE, Inc. announce their new partnership, bringing Vibram’s leading technology and exclusive sole design to Nike’s trail footwear offering. The first product of this collaboration is the Nike Ultrafly Trail, a new trail racing innovation.
Looking forward seeing where this partnership goes. Vibram is clearly one of the leaders in outsoles for the outdoors and its products can be found on lots of great trail running shoes, and some really awful ones. Nike knows how to make shoes and I loved their Pegasus Trail for many things, and especially its durability (My first pair had over 1000miles on it, my second pair over 600), but the one area the shoes, (both, the Pegasus 2 and 3) truly lacked was how slippery it was. For a trail shoe that’s unacceptable, and for a trail shoe made by Nike, one of the biggest (the biggest?) shoe brand in the world, this is downright laughable. So bring on the Vibram outsoles and slap them on the Pegasus and you will have my money.
