It was the first year for Trail of the Kings by UTMB as part of the UTMB World Series. Samosir Island in Lake Toba, Indonesia hosted one of the smallest events in this year’s series.
Big shout out to Priya RAI from Nepal, who not just won the Ultimate Expedition 60K women’s race by almost 2.5hrs but also got 3rd overall in that race.

King’s Ascent 28K Full Results
Trail of the Kings saw a total 818 starters and 798 finishers. 259 (32%) women and 539 (68%) men reached the finish line and earned themselves their respective stones and an UTMB index (or directly punched their ticket to the Finals in Chamonix for 2026).
After three events in Asia the UTMB World Series is returning to Europe for two more events that couldn’t be more different Kullamannen in Sweden and Mallorca on the island with the same name in the Mediterranean Sea, part of Spain on 31 October – 2 November, 2025.
