UTMB Adds First Event in Taiwan

And yes, another new event announcement by UTMB. It really is heating up ahead of the Finals in a few weeks. Expect the news and press announcements from Chamonix to come at a steady drumbeat in the coming days.

Xtrail Kenting in Taiwan is joining the World Series in 2026:

A new trail running adventure awaits on the island of Taiwan, as Xtrail Kenting by UTMB^® makes its debut on the UTMB^® World Series stage from March 6-8, 2026. Set in Kenting, Hengchun Township, the event will take runners deep into the spectacular landscapes of the Hengchun Peninsula, where tropical coastline meets lush mountain terrain.

Races in the 100K, 50K, and 20K category will be held in March of next year. And yes, I have updated the ECC calendar – which also marks the 40th update to that calendar. And more importantly, the sixth new event so far this year added to their series.

A side note here: This is UTMB’s first event in Taiwan, and it’ll be interesting to see how they are treating the China-Taiwan tensions in their media coverage and press announcements.
