Big News from Swiss Canyon Trails (announced today via Instagram):
2026 marks a new chapter for the Swiss Canyon Trail
Starting next year, we will no longer be part of the World Trail Majors series. This is a conscious decision, guided by our values and our desire to build an even brighter, more ambitious sporting future that is fully aligned with our vision.
The post continues making it pretty clear that this move is not a setup for SCT to join the UTMB World Series as some have wondered/feared. But from what I’ve been hearing through the grapevine (‘Trail Talk’) is that race directors weren’t happy with the lack of progress the World Major Trails organization was making on setting up policies and other frameworks for the series.
