Here we are. OCC, (Orsières-Champex-Chamonix) the first Finals race of the 2025 UTMB World Series is in the books. The UTMB Finals race I raced last year. This year the weather in the mountains around Mont Blanc created lots of work for the course directors of the UTMB Finals week. Almost every race had to be rerouted in some way and was conducted on an alternate course. This year’s OCC was longer than the usual route, but had just a little less elevation.
For more UTMB 2025 coverage visit my dedicated UTMB World Series page. For full results visit the UTMB website, below are the top runners by race:
Women*:
Men:
* Joyline CHEPNGENO (Kenya) initially came in first but received a positive doping result from her race at Sierre-Zinal a few weeks prior to racing OCC.
OCC Starters: 1,568. DNF: 150 + Finishers: 1,418. Women 452 (32%), Men 966 (68%).
That’s about 10% drop compared to 2024’s 1,764 starters, which is quite fascinating and I’m curious what drove that?
