After the daylight revealed the carnage of the night, the rest of the field settled into a mellow groove. In the men’s race Sandes took the lead for a bit, while Dan Green had taken a rest/slept a bit. Three’s been some minor position juggling, but nothing noteworthy.
In the women’s race last year’s winner Rachel Entrekin continues to lead the field in a commanding fashion – she’s been in third overall for several hours – and leads over her second place competitor by 27miles. Apparently she hasn’t slept at all yet and is over 8 hours ahead of her own time from last year.
Only 16 people have been officially labeled DNF, while another 8 are consider DNFing… that’s the intend to DNF, but they haven’t given up their tracker and with it chance to get back into the race, maybe?
In other news: The Mingus Traverse, the ‘shorter distance’ race at 78 miles kicked off this morning at 6am MST.
