The Trump administration canceled grants for street safety measures, pedestrian trails and bike lanes in communities around the country this month, each time offering a simple rationale for yanking back federal aid: the projects aren’t designed for cars.
I mean, it’s the logical continuation: In a country where inanimate objects (which can be produced and sold by corporations) have more rights than people (who might vote against your politics) it only makes sense that “political leaders” determine that cars are “threatened by street safety measure projects” that allow people to walk, or bike. So much for “we’re making cities safer”.
