Hidden in the regulations for the 2024 UTMB Finals in Chamonix there’s this info regarding prize money for the UTMB World Series:
The price money amounts for the men’s and women’s finals (UTMB, CCC, OCC) are as follows :
1st : 10 000€ 2nd : 5 000€ 3rd : 3 000€ 4th : 1 500€ 5th : 1 500€ 6th : 1 000€ 7th : 1 000€ 8th : 1 000€ 9th : 1 000€ 10th : 1 000€
That amounts to €156,000 (if I got my math right), and is only for winning, or placing in the top 10 at the Finals in Chamonix. No other prize purse has been announced for any of the other races. Clearly not what will get the elites excited but better than nothing.
