PTL is a 300 km team race on an ever changing route, through some of the most rugged terrain of the Alps. This magical, mysterious, and a bit odd-one-out race kicks off UTMB week every year. As of this writing the race is already under way with teams of two or three heading into their first night, carrying mountaineering gear, and helmets. They have 151 hours to complete the tough route, with the first teams expected back in Chamonix not until sometime Friday. What makes this event super special from a fan experience in town is that dedicated volunteers will guide and cheer the arriving teams at all hours and folks sitting in the sidewalk cafes will stand up, clap, and celebrate each team arriving back in Chamonix. Super special moments, each time.
