UTMB Unveils Poster for 2025 Finals

Just like in previous years, UTMB, commissioned a poster for their Finals in Chamonix. And just like in previous years, I’m posting about it.

For this year’s poster they went back to an illustration, this time by artist Simon Charrière:

At the heart of this illustration, the environment and the beauty of the local landscapes crossed take centre stage. With its glaciers, iconic peaks and lush green valleys, the poster celebrates all the diversity of the Mont-Blanc region: France, Italy and Switzerland, while also honouring those who bring it to life: the runners, at the heart of their adventure, day and night, the volunteers working alongside them and the entire passionate community.

Last year the opted for a photograph, which was a departure from the illustrated posters of previous years. This year, they went back to that style, this time opting for a stylized “map” of the whole course. In German this style is somewhat referred to as “Wimmelbild”: a birds-eye view of a landscape with lots of characters to find and explore. Kind of whimsey and fun – and oh so different from the way we perceive trail running over here in the US.
