The Cirque Series is coming to Washington State. The team is still looking for volunteers for a spectacular day out at Crystal Mountain on 19 September. Email Steve for info.
CCC is the “other big race” that starts in Courmayeur and the middle distance World Series Final. It largely follows the UTMB route back to Chamonix (TDS the other race starting goes in reverse direction.) This race, just like OCC is ballooning in distance, this year it’s 108KM with 6,400m of vert. One thing that’s concerning is that cutoffs seemingly aren’t being adjust to account for the additional distance, but that’s a story for another time. What is the story for this year is the unfortunate but very fucked up finish situation of CCC due to the weather delay for UTMB and course changes for CCC. This resulted in several top runners getting held back just a few hundred meters from the finish line due to the UTMB runners under the arch leaving town. Before that Tony McCann was held back by an incoming trail and there were rumors that Hans Troyer might get penalized for littering. There was a lot going on that created lots of confusion and online chatter – maybe for future years UTMB needs to give CCC a bit more breathing room and attention so it doesn’t get squeezed by the start of UTMB. But, anyways, here are the 2026 results:
Yngvild KASPERSEN (Norway) and Cristian MINOGGIO (Italy) took the wins in a wild finish in rainy Chamonix.
